We are the recipients of a gracious gift of beef from members of Good Hope Lutheran Church. I was able to witness the extraction of the meat from the bones in this process as pictured above. I will never be the same.

Saved by the collar

Last Sunday after I finished church at Kamiah, I took my clergy collar off and unbuttoned the top buttons of my shirt. About 10 miles down Hwy 12, I drove past a parked Highway Patrol. In a few seconds, he had his lights on and was following me. As I prepared to pull over, I quickly buttoned up my shirt and put the white collar back on. The officer came up to the window of my car and told me I'd been going 64. I turned to make sure he could see my neck and said I was sorry. He said, surprised, "Oh, Father, or Priest?" I said, "I'm a pastor." He asked what church, etc. and then cordially sent me on my ticket-less way!
